Sir Michael Craig-Martin RA and Ben Luke Talk

As an established abstract artist it is always pleasant to be invited along to special events and occasions which will ultimately inspire and evoke a new light, an enthusiasm to my own depiction in the artistic practices and artwork impressions which I create.

Meeting other artists is realistically mesmerising for me.

As artists, we sometimes channel so much of our time and energy in our worlds at the studio, that we forget what might be evolving in our industry elsewhere.

A heartfelt thank you to Cristea Roberts for the invitation to Sir Michael Craig-Martin RA and Ben Luke talk at the gallery in London. As I have matured as an artist, I am no longer hesitant in attending events like these, especially when I have a deep admiration for the artist.

Meeting my icons of abstract art and being able to create life long memories, is focal and the subjects within the chosen topics is cherished. The conversations unfolds and the conception resonates.

I met Ian Davenport RA the other week and listening to both these artists opening up about their historical experiences and art journey reflects on similar practices I am having on my journey.

The talk with Michael and Ben was really enjoyable and eye opening on Michaels take on how colour is chosen to dominate his artworks.

A big thank you for discussing the subjects you had chosen, it has allowed me to reflect on my own practice and chosen printing techniques.

As an abstract artist, diversifying towards a new beginning, an exciting journey on a path to a doctorate for January 2025. I reflect on where I am now and the opportunities that will no longer be possible to me. I would have loved to have met John Hoyland RA and Hans Hofmann to discuss and discover their take on Abstract art for the future.

Don’t be late to the party and don’t squander those opportunities which present themselves to you. Enjoy it and be a part of the art ❤️
